This is my latest addition to the corduroy farm: 'goose' made for a little Zoe Zecher who has a nickname 'goose'. This little guy was whipped up rather quickly (2 days) but I like his style. On to my next project... :)
Of reccent Kev and I have been confined to the house due to our illnesses. I am trying to remember the last time I left our little flat outside of going to my GP down the street (half a block away). I have a mild yet strange chicken poxy thing and Kev has a full blown (pardon the pun) cold. There are scratches and tissues and all things unpleasant. Today I will venture to Tesco (across the road) and touch nothing (except that which I buy) and come home to watch endless hrs of TV. I don't feel sick anymore but I should rest up and take care of hubby till the spots clear up (starting to clear now). Something interesting of note is the first time I had chicken pox was in England in 1988 on fam vacay. Coincidence? I'll let you be the judge...
In my spare time I have taken up a new habit of fashioning small corduroy animals out of scrap material and taking pictures of them. This is one such elephant. Kev says its a girl elephant cause it doesn't have tusks, I may add a bow to her trunk...
Walkers crisps bear a striking resemblance to Lays potato chips with one major difference. NO CRAZY FLAVORS. Below is a real ad of the new crisps available. I've sampled most of the crisps now, and can say with great certainty that they taste like their name... ps why are people eating squirrels over here? And yes chili chocolate is disgusting.
Corduroy was invented in along time ago in Manchester, which is pretty close to where I live now. But regardless of the distance from its birthplace it is a hard fabric to come by. This rhino is made from some corduroy trousers I found at a charity shop. He is my first stuffed creature and I'm not sure yet what to do with him.
Awhile back I made this play mat, it consisted of some hard work, dmc thread and a few sore fingers. The design is a patchwork of what I can remember from the game, and sprites found online.

Ashley and hubby Kev currently reside in Durham, United Kingdom while Kev is getting his smarty pants Phd in Patristics. Ashley is his steady companion offering love, support and no meal prep or cooking (hate the stuff) but love (mentioned that already..) Ashley is a not so closet artistic idividual who is persuing her career (as much as one can abroad, and as the sole provider) in videography. She loves all things crafty and spends much of her time on etsy seeing how people make money from such a passion. She enjoys all junk food, has a weakness for soda and tries to limit herself to less then 5 cookies a day. She enjoys TV with a passion and has useless facts about the simpsons up the whazoo. She especially enjoys The Simpsons, Seinfeld, 30 Rock, Flight of the Conchords, The Office and is big fan of the Gilmore Girls.
